A 53-year old man’s left foot was amputated after a physician’s assistant failed to recognize the severity of his swollen foot after multiple clinic visits. Over the course of several weeks, the plaintiff went to the clinic for a swollen and painful left foot and on his last visit there, he was feverish and his foot was gangrenous, eventually resulting in its amputation. Daniel Hodes with Hodes Milman Liebeck resolved the case in mediation and the plaintiff was awarded $405,000.
